What Is Organ Donation?
In our country, many patients lose their lives as a result of various forms of chronic organ failure. Unfortunately, many other people die with healthy organs, while those organs cannot be made available to patients on transplant waiting lists.
Organ donation means that an individual, of their own free will while still alive, consents to donating their organs after medically established death so that they may be transplanted into patients awaiting organ transplantation.
Anyone over 18 years of age who has the mental capacity to make this decision may donate all or some of their organs during their lifetime, to be used after their death.
